Just a quick blog...

We've been super-busy, so I apologize for not updating more regularly.

Noah and I visited my parents in Carrabelle for a little over a week; it had been nearly 3 months since they've seen Noah, and I know he seemed like a different little boy! Unfortunately, Noah went through FIVE (5!) diapers from the time we left Greenville to landing in Sanford, so as soon as we got off the plane, we had to get him changed ASAP. AND, because we sat in the plane so long in Greenville without the engines running, Noah got overheated & developed a nasty heat rash. But, other than that, the visit was great, and we were able to see Mee Ma & Pee Pa on both ends of the trip, which was very important to me. (Patrick had to stay home, as he was in the final weeks before school is out...I think it's fair to say that we had more fun than he did!)

We went to the beach; Noah was a little apprehensive about the waves, so we didn't push it. He did enjoy having Grandpa & me bury his feet in the sand, though! Beyond that, we just hung out with Grandma & Grandpa, played with all the toys that Grandma had waiting for him (in fact, we took the alphabet foam mat home with us, Noah enjoyed it so much!), and just generally enjoyed each others' company.

Pee Pa was a lifesaver, and managed to get a Pack-n-Play for our use, which was wonderful. Otherwise, we had several very complicated plans for Noah's sleeping arrangements--mattress on the floor pushed up against the wall, surrounded by pillows; me sleeping in front of the door to keep him from wandering out...

I know that we're getting close to thinking about a toddler bed (or, rather, converting his crib to the toddler bed), but I'm just plain not looking forward to it. I don't think Noah is quite there yet--some sites I've been to suggest waiting until your child is potty trained, and Noah is SO not ready yet--and to be honest, I like the security of knowing that he can't get out when we put him to bed. I guess that's just another hurdle parents have to overcome--and I'll miss that freedom, I'll be honest with you. I know that when I put him down, he can't get out. And he knows that, too, so he usually drifts off to sleep. BUT--when he figures out, "Hey, I'm not that sleepy, I'll get up & wander out & see what the folks are up to! Maybe they're watching a secret episode of "The Wonder Pets!" and we can all see what baby is in trouble this time!" Well, it's all over.

Our back door finally got installed, and it's fabulous. 9 panes of light coming in at the top, opens the way it should, and is energy-efficient (which means, no inch gap at the bottom, letting our precious heat/cold air out). Up next is the drywall project in the dining room (where the closet was) and I think we'll have our laundry room drywalled as well. I think it'll make it look more finished, and not so much an afterthought (which, honestly, is what it was. Old homes usually weren't built with laundry rooms!). From there, I think we'll go for painting and THEN the floors. I'd cry if we refinished the floors & then spilled paint on them.

I'll quit rambling for now & get some photos attached. Enjoy!

Oh, real quick--big news. It's TRIPLETS!!!! That's right, triplets. The Robin who has made her home in our gigantic snowball bush/tree was sitting on three eggs, and they've all hatched!!!!

Me and my boy at the beach.

Mommy, Noah and Grandpa at the beach.

Toes buried in the sand.

Having fun with his Mickey Mouse ball, looking stylin' in his beachwear!

Contemplating the secrets of the Universe. Oh, and having fun with his Mickey Mouse ball.

Noah & Grandma, walking down the driveway.

Noah putting various parts of Russian nesting dolls on Grandpa's famous monkey toes.

Grandpa & Noah, just chillin'.

Noah is VERY fascinated with what Mee Ma is saying... He and Mee Ma really had an in-depth conversation right before we left. I was so happy that they got to see him, and that we got to spend some time with them. I think it was just about perfect!

I love you!
