Noah Pictures!

Noah had his 4 month check-up yesterday--15 lbs, 25 inches long! Of course, we also got 4 shots--which caused a slight fever last night, which in turn caused us both to miss out on quite a bit of sleep!! Patrick got up with Noah first, and then around 3:00 a.m. or so I got up, and we took his temperature (rectally--what fun!), determined he had a fever, so Patrick runs out to WalMart to get some infant Tylenol. We thought we had some, but I guess it's not until it's 3:30 a.m. and your baby is screaming that you realize that no, you don't have any. I stayed up with Noah, and let Patrick go back to sleep since he absolutely could not be off of work today. Noah finally drifted off to sleep around 4:45 a.m., and sleep for about 3 hours. His fever has been coming down pretty steadily, and I think now he's just really tired. So, I stepped out of the room while he's in his magic swing, hoping that he'll close his eyes and get some rest (of course, if he took a nap, then maybe I could, too!).

So, seizing on that opportunity, here are some pictures. Enjoy! (The 1st one is from July--July 17, to be exact, and I just loved the look on his face. He looks so perplexed!!!! The others are from our Apple Picking Adventure a couple weekends ago, and just some general, "Hey look at me in my cute jammies!" pictures.)

Some quick news...

I'll try to post some pictures later, but here's some quick news:

We've not sold the house yet. We've received an offer, and we've got a signed contract, but the buyer is a 1st time buyer, young & scared--and wants the world. And, because we're needing to sell the house, we're probably giving way more than we need to, but we know how much equity we have in the house, and how much we can bend.

The stated closing date on the contract is October 16--so what we're planning on is going to Knoxville Saturday & Sunday (October 14 & 15), then Sunday afternoon/evening motor on to Dan & Janet's, and then go to Finger on the 16th to gather up the rest of our stuff (riding lawn mower, bucket that is pulled behind the lawn mower, another push mower, just odds-n-ends that we didn't get over Labor Day weekend) and hopefully sign the contract, get our money, and get outta Dodge.

We understand if everyone can't be off that weekend--but there's no way we can change the dates. I'm walking on eggshells around this buyer, and we're hoping that the planets align and the House Selling Gods smile on us to make this deal happen.

And for those of you who know me, can guess at how hard it has been for me not to tell this guy to take a flyin' leap, that he can paint the *%(%* doors himself if he wants them to match! But...because--again, we need to sell this house--we're making arrangements to do all of these silly things that this guy wants. It may be that none of the things he's asked for are deal-breakers, that he's just seeing how much he can get away with. But with this being the ONLY offer on the house in OVER A YEAR, we can't afford to play games. We're still going to make out okay, and we're not getting greedy, so we feel like we need to handle this with kid gloves.

Now for the important stuff--Noah is doing great--laughing, giggling, making new noises all the time--and some of the noises are actually from his mouth (rather than the usual emissions from "down below...")! He's growing so quickly; we have our 4 month check-up on Thursday morning, so I'm anxious to see how much he weighs. I'll post some pictures later on so everyone can see how cute he is....

We're both fine and happy, too.
